Nexus was established in 1993 as a buy and build media start up originally backed by Legal&General. The company was involved in all aspects of the business media - magazines; directories; exhibitions; conferences and in recent years digital services. However, it gained its greatest reputation from the development of more than twenty highly acclaimed Awards Evenings in areas as diverse as Office Products; Commercial Horticulture; Education; International Trade and Manufacturing.
In 2006 our newly appointed CEO carried out a review of the Nexus portfolio and concluded that the interests of our investors would best be served by the planned disposal of all or most of our assets.
I was particularly delighted that as part of this process some of our assets were acquired by their line managers. This included Chris Milton who acquired two of our major Awards Evenings and then brought together in Brilliant Marketing Solutions many of those most closely involved in developing the Nexus Awards Evenings' portfolio.
Based on 16 years of working with them I would unhesitatingly recommend them to run any Awards Evening in any market. They have wide ranging experience in all aspects of Event management including: dealing co-operatively with sponsoring bodies such as the DTI, the UK T&I , British office supplies and services and The British educational suppliers association; liaising with commercial sponsors; organising entries and the judging process; planning the Awards Dinner and Ceremony; table planning; all aspects of on site management; producing follow up promotional material.
Between them the Brilliant team have unrivalled experience of all the key elements that make for a successful Awards Evening - ensuring the event keeps to time; making sure the sound system fully meets the needs of the size of audience; selecting the right presenter; originating the appropriate script; knowing how to handle the arrival of un expected guests or the non arrival of expected speakers and all the many other areas that require dedicated and experienced attention to detail.
